Wadda Mulli, I’m Connie Rovina...

I am of KukuThaypan, Cape York, and Widi / Birriah Central Queensland ancestral heritage.
Various sources, including my Aboriginal family background, influence my artwork, including the traditional outback lands of my KUKU-Thaypan grandmother from the Laura district in Far North Queensland, as well as the Bowen Basin district Birriah and Widi people of my grandfather in Central Queensland.

In my contemporary indigenous artwork, I incorporate various colours, from the traditional ochre tones to multi-coloured palettes inspired by the landscapes, from the inland bush to the sea.
My pieces often feature abstract representations of Aboriginal life, as well as animal figures that draw from the teachings passed down by my family and grandparents. Commission orders
are my specialty.
