Green Sea Turtles return to their birth place over many decades. They bring life, wisdom and knowledge back from the sea. Sometimes they meet with their land cousins the freshwater tortoises through secret water connection tunnels from seashore to freshwater springs further inland warning of dangers and weather patterns.

These animals have always been an important traditional food for coastal Indigenous Australian people, traditionally hunted in sacred formality to ensure respects are paid to the spirit of the animal which ensures longevity of the species.
